We architect systems that are agile, coherent, and human-centered.
Organizational Realignments:
Tune your structure to purpose and performance.
Momentum supports organizations through deep, systemic strategic realignments—particularly in settings where development goals, operational structures, and political realities must be recalibrated in tandem. Our process integrates strategic clarity with organizational empathy: we co-create new institutional architectures that are financially sustainable, strategically coherent, and humanly workable. Whether repositioning a country office in post-crisis Iraq or re-visioning a regional UNDP hub in Amman, we anchor each engagement in rigorous analysis, inclusive design, and phased transformation planning—tailored to the unique trajectory of each organization.
What sets our approach apart is its fusion of analytical precision and human design. We don’t just map structures—we align them with evolving missions, cultural dynamics, and operational mandates. We listen closely to internal tensions, surface unspoken misalignments, and guide leadership teams through thoughtful, transparent transitions. The result is not just a new structure—it’s a re-energized institution, capable of navigating complexity with renewed clarity, confidence, and purpose.

In 2024/25 we supported 14 organizational realignments of international organization country offices in the Middle-East, Africa and Asia, and accompanied implementation.

In 2025, we reviewed and redesigned the organizational structure of a regional bureau of an Intergovernmental Organisation.
Functional Reviews & Process Design:
Clarify roles, workflows, and interdependencies.
Momentum helps organizations clarify how work flows — and how it should. Our approach to functional and business process design begins by mapping what exists: current roles, responsibilities, and processes — through functional inventories, workload assessments, and RACI mapping. We then guide organizations to identify inefficiencies, overlaps, and decision bottlenecks, and collaboratively reengineer workflows for greater coherence, agility, and transparency.
Our methodology is grounded in participatory diagnostics and structured design logic. We use interactive workshops to visualize “as-is” structures and co-design “to-be” solutions. Using RACI matrices and business process reengineering (BPR) techniques, we help teams define ownership, streamline handovers, reduce decision latency, and embed accountability into core functions. Whether clarifying programme-operational interfaces, restructuring sub-office roles, or designing end-to-end workflows, we align structure with purpose and ensure form follows function.

In 2025 in Iraq, we developed the Standard Operating Procedures of a UN country office.

In 2024 in Egypt, we conducted a functional analysis for an international development agency, leading to more focus and a new distribution of responsibilities.
UNCT / UN System Capacity Mapping:
Surface UNCT potential and align assets with ambition.
Momentum supports UN Country Teams in navigating transitions by conducting comprehensive Strategic Capacity Reviews—system-wide assessments that identify how the UN’s collective presence can best respond to shifting political, developmental, and peacebuilding landscapes. Often undertaken in contexts of mission withdrawal or mandate redefinition, these reviews examine institutional arrangements, delivery models, and strategic posture. Our work has directly shaped the standard methodology of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Office (UNSDCO), and has informed key transitions in countries like Iraq and Mali, where clarity and coordination were critical to sustaining progress.
Our reviews are grounded in systemic analysis and field realism, but shaped by a strong convening instinct. We map not only functions and capacities, but the connective tissue—how entities relate, where duplication occurs, and how leadership culture affects coherence. Through confidential interviews, collaborative validation, and honest dialogue with national counterparts, we co-create transformation strategies that are practical, politically intelligent, and time-sensitive. Momentum’s process helps UN teams move from structural uncertainty to shared ownership—ready to adapt, align, and lead in complex, post-crisis terrain.

In 2024 in Iraq, we conducted a comprehensive review of the UN system on the ground and developed a UNCT action plan supporting the repositioning of the United Nations in response to the changing context.

In 2025 in Libya, we analyzed the capacities of the UN country team and supported the development of key recommendations feeding into the independent strategic review process.
Crisis Response Design:
Equip teams to pivot fast and operate under pressure.
In fragile and fast-moving contexts, Momentum helps organizations move quickly — but with precision. Our crisis response design approach integrates rapid needs analysis, risk-informed scenario planning, and layered intervention strategies that align immediate stabilization with long-term recovery and resilience. We work with country teams to shape integrated area-based programmes, surge plans, and operational blueprints that are context-specific, politically smart, and grounded in UNDP’s crisis SOPs and governance protocols.
Methodologically, we use a modular framework: (1) scenario-based risk assessment, (2) layered intervention design (stabilization, recovery, transformation), (3) capacity surge modeling, and (4) operational readiness mapping. Drawing from both policy and field realities, we help shape programme logic, governance mechanisms, and operating protocols — including remote management strategies, fiduciary risk controls, and Do No Harm principles. Whether designing support hubs, launching area-based interventions, or coordinating donor platforms in volatile environments, we help teams deliver with clarity under pressure.

In 2021 in Afghanistan, following the Taliban take-over, we supported a multilateral development actor to design a risk-informed crisis response and establish a the crisis response team.

Global, 2024: We supported the review of global crisis response procedures for an international organization, as well as the development of thematic crisis response packages.
